Winter atelier brand
of the day Sarah Hannam

Where do you find your creative inspiration?

I’m really drawn to the beauty of nature. I’m fascinated by sunlight and how it behaves, flowers, the heat of the Mediterranean, plus I love romance and interesting textures and details.

What makes your brand unique and stand out
compared to others in the wedding industry?

Firstly I shoot on film, which is somewhat of a rarity today. I love the luminous and delicate pastel tones that film brings, plus it has a softness that looks exquisite on skin tones, so really perfect and flattering for brides.

I look to create an elegant, romantic and timeless approach to wedding photography, that shows people having a wonderful time celebrating, presented beautifully that will look as stylish in twenty years from now as it does today.

What trends do you predict for 2016?

I see the US influence on high-end UK & European weddings bringing bigger wedding events, whole weekends rather than just one day. Beautiful, professionally planned pre-wedding or rehearsal dinners and post-wedding brunches, plus destination honeymoon shoot where the bride and groom can relax in a beautiful location and be photographed at their happiest.

If you could give your bride & groom any
piece of advice what would it be?

Always invest in an album and organise it when you book your photography. Months after your wedding when the finished album arrives, you will be so glad to have something with which you can relive your day.

I’m so passionate about printing photographs, as not only is it hugely important to have a physical product you can keep, but also it will become a treasured heirloom for future generations. Just think of all the old boxes and albums of photographs our families have and the hours we’ve spent looking at them, fascinated by our ancestors. That won’t happen anymore if our generation doesn’t print anything, so by all means, keep the image files on computer too, but always arrange to have a physical product too.

Why do you think the Quintessentially Weddings
Atelier is so special?

Quintessentially Weddings have created an intimate gathering of select brands in a fabulous place, attended by really discerning brides & grooms who place a high value on their wedding plans. The atelier is a wholly enjoyable experience where visitors have a great opportunity to meet and spend valuable time talking to brands who often don’t do general wedding shows.

A smaller, select event such as Quintessentially Weddings Atelier is so much more effective than being one of the thousands crammed into a huge exhibition space where in reality visitors may only want to see a tiny fraction of the suppliers there.

What can the lovely bride and grooms attending
the Atelier expect from you this year?

I’ll be showing some fabulous new albums covered in sumptuous, soft leathers and beautiful linen-covered print boxes. Brides and grooms will be able to come and see the beauty & uniqueness of my film wedding photography and explore how I could tell the precious story of their wedding in a timeless and romantic way and create an heirloom that they will really treasure.
